The Golden Torch Award Winner for 2007

At its annual meeting and dinner in September, the Better Business Bureau at Fort Worth announced the winner of its 2007 Golden Torch Award for marketplace ethics.  The Golden Torch Award is given annually to a company that has consistently exemplified the BBB’s mission of promoting ethics through excellence in customer satisfaction, employee training, high industry standards, and community involvement.  Judges for the Award are volunteers from the business community.

On Thursday, September 27, the BBB at Fort Worth held its Annual Dinner and Silent Auction at Joe T. Garcia’s.  One of the highlights of the dinner is the announcement of the Golden Torch Award winner.  The Golden Torch Award is given annually to a business that exemplifies the BBB’s mission of promoting ethics through excellence in customer satisfaction, employee training, high industry standards, and community involvement.  The 2007 winner was Cable Electric, Inc. of North Richland Hills.  For more than 20 years, Cable Electric has demonstrated a commitment to customer service, employee motivation, and education that supports the mission of the BBB.  The Consumer Education Foundation, a philanthropic endeavor of the BBB at Fort Worth, sponsors a college scholarship for a high school student in the eight-county area served by the Bureau.  At the Annual Dinner, this year’s award was made to Lauren Phillips of Crowley High School for her essay “Ethics in the Business World.”  Ms. Phillips is active in Junior Achievement and other community service activities.  The Better Business Bureau at Fort Worth congratulates this year’s winners and thanks all of those whose support helped make the Annual Dinner and Silent Auction a success.
